Heather Windham

Heather serves individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan, but specializes in serving children and adolescents, individuals in the foster and adoption community, and those with traumatic experiences.

Heather believes that everyone has a unique gift (1 Corinthians 12:4-7), and her purpose is to support others in their healing process (Romans 8:28). She is honored to have experience working with individuals with a variety of presenting concerns; some of which include depression, anxiety, trauma, foster and adoption care, attachment issues, neurodivergent concerns, and marital concerns. Heather primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, and Theraplay as her treatment modalities.

Prior to joining the Pathways team, Heather taught as a professor of counseling education and served as a middle school counselor. Her training in her specialty areas provides a strong foundation for supporting families as they navigate the complexities of the school systems today.

Heather is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. She earned her Doctorate in Counseling Education from Auburn University in 2022 and Master’s in School Counseling from Auburn University at Motngomery in 2018. She is trained in Theraplay Level 1 and Gottman Level 1.

Heather lives with her husband and two children in Wetumpka, AL.

She has been with Pathways since August 2023.
